Beat the Heat

So training in the super hot central Florida humidity is interesting. I went for a run last night at 10pm and it was still brutally humid out. Im adapting. Starting to get used to it, but I still prefer to stay in the gym if at all possible!!

A few of the concierge girls have been asking for exercise advice and the other day I instituted hourly cardio blasts in the lounge kitchen! So much fun, every hour we do jumping jacks, pushups, mountain climbers, knee-ups, and burpees. It's a great activity break in our day, I love it!!

I'm currently working fairly hard at gaining muscle mass before I get home. Once im back to really intensive triathlon training, it'll be a nice solid base to start back from. Plus it gives my body a bit of a change, switching it up is fun! I'm looking forward to coming home and training with all my favorite friends from Victoria!! 1 more day..

hooooly crap......it's almost that time...MARATHON TIME!!!!  this time tomorrow I'll be drinking a bloody mary at the local and eating a soft pretzel with hot mustard sauce....as a reward for having run 42 frickin kilometers....ack....i can do it!! I was BORN ready.....doesn't mean I'm not a little scared....that's a long way to run...today is the fun part...CARB LOADING!!! yay!!! loves it!! at the end of the day, the marathon distance is just something I have to start doing if I plan on making it to ironman canada, which i do.....so I have to look at this as training, not the end result...somehow that makes me feel better...not sure why...i guess i need to justify why I'm doing this when I hate running so much....i'm a triathlete, not a runner....that makes it ok....picking up marissa in a little bit, we're doing a nice lil 10k, just to work out the kinks....i know that apparently you're not supposed to run right before a race but my body responds better to constant abuse...rest, not so much...lol...or at least thats what I tell myself.....wish me luck!!!! marathon countdown is ON!
